The role of a Senior Information Security Consultant involves providing authoritative expertise and advice on information security best practices.

The consultant will review new technology deployments to ensure compliance with the organisation's policies. This includes producing solution architecture documentation and undertaking formal risk assessments to identify and document threats.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in evaluating designs and identifying security risks. They will also possess strong knowledge of industry standards and guidelines, including ISO 27000 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide authoritative expertise and advice across national and international standards and information security best practices.
  • Review new technology deployments to ensure compliance with the organisation's policies.
  • Produce solution architecture documentation.
  • Undertake formal risk assessments to identify and document threats.
  • Direct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing engagements undertaken by Third-party specialists and coordinate report dissemination and remediation activities.

Requirements:

  • CISSP, CISA or CISM certification.
  • Commercial experience working in an ITIL environment, with ITIL certification highly desired.
  • Minimum of 10 years commercial experience in Information Technology, with at least 5 years specialising in a Senior Information Security role.
  • A deep understanding of Risk Management principles and frameworks, enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and security architecture frameworks (e.g., SABSA).
  • Experience working with relevant industry standards and guidelines, including ISO 27000, PCI-DSS, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ITIL, COBIT, Privacy, etc.
  • Cloud Security experience in AWS or Azure.
  • Extensive experience evaluating AWS/Azure or on-premises designs and identifying security risks.
