We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our Student Support and Engagement team at Chisholm Institute of TAFE as a Student Success and Well-being Officer.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to students, helping them achieve their academic goals, engage in campus life, and maintain their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide generalist support and guidance to students on various matters, including financial assistance, accommodation, social connections, and overall well-being.
- Support students who are at risk of academic failure, providing timely assessments of their well-being and referring them to relevant internal and external services as needed.
- Offer support to students through drop-in sessions, appointments, class talks, presentations, workshops, and resource creation, as well as assisting educators in meeting the needs of the student body.
- Provide assistance and guidance to students on general support inquiries related to student life, including finances, accommodation, public transportation, culture, support networks, clubs, and activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the community services sector.
- Experience in delivering information and advice tailored to individuals from diverse cultural, social, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.
- Advanced networking, collaboration, influencing, and advocacy skills.
- Postgraduate qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or Youth Work, and relevant knowledge of community, government, and private welfare support services are highly desirable.
