About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operations Coordinator to join our Asset Operations team at the City of Playford.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on Council buildings, assets, and facilities. Your expertise in painting and decorating will ensure that our properties maintain a visually appealing appearance that reflects the vibrancy of our city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Painting and Decorating: Repaint facilities (internal and/or external) based on master schedule; smooth and prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding and removal of old paint;
  • Patching and Repair: Patch repair including nail holes, cracks and joints with filler;
  • Colour Matching: Colour matching existing paint;
  • Wood Finishing: Stain, seal and varnish wood surfaces;
  • Graffiti Removal: Undertake removal of graffiti from the interior and exterior of council buildings and facilities as required;
  • Inspections: Undertake inspections on Council buildings and facilities, providing recommendations on necessary works.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Qualifications: Hold qualifications in Painting and Decorating;
  • Licenses and Tickets: Hold a range of licences and tickets including MR licence (minimum), Elevated Work Platform (EWP) and Forklift;
  • Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all facets of painting & decorating and ability to undertake minor repairs associated with these works;
  • Communication Skills: Well-developed communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills including the capacity to establish and maintain effective relationships with work colleagues, consultants and contractors, deal professionally with the public and work effectively across Asset Operations.
