Job Summary

Middleware Administrators are responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and administering IBM WebSphere MQ and related MQ objects. They collaborate with Agile teams to implement ITIL processes and ensure MQ solutions meet the latest security requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a full-time position with a focus on installing, configuring, maintaining, and administering IBM WebSphere MQ and related MQ objects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of IBM WebSphere MQ, including creating and configuring MQ objects (Queue Managers, Remote Queues, Local Queues, Queue Aliases).
  • Expertise in IBM IIB administration.
  • Clustered MQ setups; implement security in MQ; diagnose MQ connectivity issues; MQ authentication/authorization.
  • Problem determination and troubleshooting on MQ and IIB using MQ Error Files, FDC files, syslog, traces, and monitoring tools.
  • Implementation of Incident, Change, and Problem management processes per ITIL.
  • Collaboration with MQ L3 resources, solution architects and engineers to strategize MQ solutions.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Chef, and Bitbucket.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail and analytical/problem-solving abilities.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in implementing and managing complex middleware systems.
