Job Title: Landscape Construction Supervisor

The role is part of the Environment and Open Space division within a local government's Parks and Open Space business unit.

This is an opportunity for a skilled and experienced landscape construction professional to join the team on a permanent full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team that maintains and enhances council parks, gardens, and landscaped areas through various landscape construction practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team in all aspects of landscape construction projects
  • Efficiently schedule work programs with competing priorities to ensure delivery of high-level service
  • Manage contractors in relation to projects, ensuring completion on time and within approved budgets
  • Develop partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance collaboration and improve results
  • Develop occupational health and safety systems and standards relating to open space maintenance and construction, ensuring compliance against relevant statutory regulations
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and collaborate with other teams to support positive cross-team culture
  • Respond and communicate effectively with customers to efficiently resolve requests and contribute to a positive customer experience
  • Utilize council systems to deliver works and contribute to asset management processes

Requirements:

  • Landscape Construction Certificate or relevant trade qualification or significant demonstrated relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience supervising a large team on landscape construction projects
  • Current Class C (minimum) driver's license
  • Ability to use computer-based systems
  • Well-organized and good level of physical ability to carry out all duties of the role safely
  • Strong focus on workplace health and safety
  • General Worksite Induction Ticket
