Position Summary:
We are currently looking for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a B1.3 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME). This full-time position offers a structured workweek of 38 hours spread over four days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance activities on assigned aircraft, ensuring compliance with company policies and aviation regulations.
- Complete tasks in alignment with Bell Flight's operational standards and procedures.
- Perform inspections, repairs, overhauls, and modifications in accordance with established methods and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate work-related documentation and records for all maintenance performed.
- Utilize relevant technical data and materials provided by the organization for all maintenance tasks.
- Execute aircraft maintenance and alterations for which certification is held.
- Monitor work progress to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the aircraft and work areas.
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of all parts and materials.
- Assist in planning and scheduling aircraft maintenance activities.
- Make recommendations regarding inventory levels of parts necessary for operations.
- Ensure protective covers are utilized for aircraft while in the hangar.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, including on-the-job training.
- Direct AMEs and apprentices to meet project timelines and objectives.
- Manage the operational activities of AMEs and apprentices effectively.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the work environment.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Minimum of five years of experience in aircraft maintenance and modifications.
- Certification IV in Aero-skills (Mechanical).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Understanding of aviation regulations and compliance standards.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Proficient in computer skills and experience with aircraft maintenance software.
- Compliance with the company's pre-employment drug and alcohol policy.
- Possession of a current National Police Check.
- Eligibility to live and work in Australia without restrictions and ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
Desirable:
- Current CASA B1.3 License.
- Experience with helicopters.
- Background in installations and modifications.
- Familiarity with Bell, Airbus, and Leonardo helicopters.
- Type Ratings for Bell 212/412, AW139, PT6 series engines, and T53 series engines.
- Competence in using computer-aided design programs.
