Job Role Overview:

The Attendance and Engagement Officer plays a pivotal role in enhancing student attendance and engagement at the College. This position involves providing high-level administrative support, fostering strong relationships with students, and collaborating with key personnel to monitor student punctuality.

This role requires excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills, as well as high-level oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of and ability to connect with and engage young people in an educational context.

  • Engage with identified students to promote education participation and strengthen attendance
  • Deliver high-level administrative support, encompassing attendance documentation completion
  • Liaise effectively with key personnel to monitor student punctuality
  • Coordinate meetings and liaise with Year Level Coordinator
  • Communicate with families regarding absences and student punctuality
  • Develop strong working relationships with external service providers
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Key Selection Criteria:
  1. Demonstrated capacity for high-level, detail-oriented administrative support
  2. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  3. Excellent oral and written (including digital) communication skills
  4. Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in Education, Welfare, Community Services, Youth Work or related fields
  5. Proven ability to connect with and engage young people in an educational context
