Education Re-Engagement Specialist

The Navigator Program is a school re-engagement service for young people aged 12-17 years who are experiencing chronic and significant school disengagement.
About the Role
- Work with young people and their families to address barriers to education and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with young people, their families, and relevant stakeholders to develop and implement education re-engagement plans.
- Conduct risk assessments of families and adolescents to identify potential barriers to education.
- Develop and maintain relationships with schools and vocational training providers to ensure seamless transitions and support.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development/Community Welfare, or other equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working with family units, adolescents, and parents, including understanding of mental health, drug and alcohol issues, family violence, child protection, and child development.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including schools, community services, and government agencies.
- Current drivers license valid in Victoria.
