Job Title: Assistant Department Supervisor - Fresh Goods

This is a unique opportunity to be part of the customer fulfillment team, working in a cold storage environment.

  • Support the department lead with operational performance across inventory management and replenishment activities in perishables and meat products.
  • Supervise a team to provide an exceptional level of service to all customers by ensuring stock is available when required to support order picking.
  • Supervise the department in the absence of the department lead.

This role will involve close collaboration with the replenishment manager and reports into the department lead.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the perishables and meat teams to motivate and guide them to deliver results and drive best practice.
  • Support the department lead to supervise the team to ensure good product levels are maintained, overstocks are controlled, and business-to-business orders are fulfilled.
  • Review stock loss daily with the out-of-code team to give customers the freshest stock while maintaining profit margins.
  • Review out-of-stock reports daily to determine how to improve availability for customers.
  • Collaborate with online commercial and replenishment teams to improve customer satisfaction through range changes and stock level management.
  • Support the department lead to identify and develop talent within the team to build a talent pipeline.
  • Engage with other teams to share best practices and improve overall performance.
