Quality Assurance Specialist - Cyber Security

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to lead quality assurance across a portfolio of cyber security initiatives. The successful candidate will plan, execute and report on functional, regression, system, security and integration testing to ensure solutions are secure, reliable and aligned with our cyber resilience objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Testing Activities: Oversee and manage functional, regression, system, integration, and cyber security testing activities, ensuring thorough and effective validation of software against security requirements and threat models.
  • Cyber Security Test Design: Develop and execute test cases and scenarios focused on security, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, secure code reviews, and compliance validation.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement detailed plans describing, explaining, and scheduling the anticipated testing approach, including security testing strategies aligned with risk management and strategic goals.
  • Reporting: Produce comprehensive test reports in tandem with product releases, including security test findings, risk assessments, and mitigation recommendations for stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience: A minimum of 8 years' experience in testing software applications, including at least 2 years in cyber security testing, with relevant IT qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge: Demonstrated advanced knowledge and extensive experience in testing techniques, including security testing approaches such as vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and secure code review.
  • Comprehensive testing expertise: Experience across functional, system integration, regression, and security testing, both as a sole tester and within a team.
  • Cyber security certification: Possession of or progress toward a recognised certification such as CISSP (preferred); CEH or OSCP (desirable).
  • Agile-Scrum proficiency: Experience working in an Agile-Scrum environment, including secure development practices.
  • Superior communication skills: Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively with staff and clients at all levels, including cyber security stakeholders.
Eligibility:

Applications are open to Australian Citizens. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1. Appointment may be subject to a national police check and other security/medical/character requirements.
