The Role

We are seeking a customer-focused Eligibility Officer to join our diverse team based in Adelaide. As part of our claims process, this individual will be responsible for making sound decisions regarding claim outcomes, while also interacting with third-party stakeholders such as solicitors, IMEs, and investigators.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage enquiries from the work queue, requesting information as necessary to facilitate liability assessments.
  • Proactively manage complex claim determinations, documenting actions clearly throughout the process.
  • Ensure allocated work is completed within appropriate timeframes.
  • Provide accurate and easy-to-understand information about claims, entitlements, obligations, and responsibilities.
  • Adeptly interact with workers, employers, and other stakeholders, adopting a service-oriented approach focused on their interests.
  • Liaise effectively with external parties, including solicitors, IMEs, and investigators.
  • In conjunction with the Team Leader, identify and implement strategies to achieve key performance and remuneration measures.

Your Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • High-level problem-solving and sound decision-making capabilities.
  • The ability to effectively negotiate and influence.
  • Tertiary studies in business, law, or allied health are advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within worker's compensation or insurance, professional services, or a legal environment would be beneficial.
