Job Summary

The Senior Project Officer plays a pivotal role in the NSW Department of Education, overseeing the management of localized issues and coordinating initiatives to support early childhood services.

This role operates across the full spectrum of early childhood service delivery, from mobile provision to center-based care, with a focus on driving organizational objectives and government commitments through localized support.

About the Role
  • The Senior Project Officer will work closely with the Local Operations Branch, which acts as a link between the department's Early Childhood Outcomes division and early childhood education and care (ECEC) services.
  • The role involves managing multiple projects, balancing priorities, and making strategic resourcing assessments.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong stakeholder engagement skills, be able to solve complex problems, and communicate effectively with managers and team members.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of initiatives to support early childhood services.
  • Coordinate localized solutions to address issues affecting early childhood services.
  • Work closely with the Local Operations Branch to achieve organizational objectives.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
  • A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
