Motor Underwriting Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Motor Underwriter to join our high-performing team. As an essential member of the team, you will assist in leading the profitable growth of a Prestige Motor Insurance agency via our Broker partners.

Key responsibilities include underwriting motor policies, determining effective pricing and policy negotiation, managing renewals, endorsements, and new business opportunities to attain financial targets. You will also be responsible for maintaining and exceeding service level standards, following best practices, and upholding ethical and regulatory standards across the agency.

You will work closely with brokers and business partners at company functions and industry events, and involvement in the Underwriter audit process is required.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within insurance in underwriting/broking/motor claims
  • Industry qualifications (minimum tier 2) or comparable industry experience
  • Strong customer service focus with experience in intermediated distribution channels desirable
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn and use your own initiative
  • An ability to foster strong broker/market relationships
  • Able to make intelligent and innovative business decisions with an appreciation and understanding of legal and regulatory guidelines
  • A data-driven mindset to uncover patterns, ask insightful questions, and transform information into meaningful actions to drive success
