Industrial AI Research Fellow

The University of Adelaide is seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher to join our team as an Industrial AI Research Fellow. This is a unique opportunity to establish and build a dynamic research program in computer vision or machine learning, with a focus on developing innovative solutions to real-world problems.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and lead a research program in computer vision or machine learning, with a focus on developing innovative solutions to real-world problems.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners and stakeholders to identify research opportunities and collaborate on projects.
- Supervise and mentor postgraduate students, providing guidance and support to ensure timely completions.
- Develop and manage research funding proposals, securing grants and other funding opportunities to support research activities.
- Contribute to the development of the Australian Institute for Machine Learning, working collaboratively with other researchers and staff to achieve strategic goals.
- PhD in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
- Research track record of international distinction and sustained excellence in machine learning, computer vision, or artificial intelligence.
- Demonstrated ability to develop research programs of scope and scale, supported by research funding.
- Demonstrated ability to forge meaningful external relationships with a diverse range of non-academic partners and industry.
- Demonstrated ability to attract and supervise postgraduate students, as evidenced by timely completions.
