Job Title: Registered Nurse

The role involves providing clinical oversight and guidance to other team members, greeting and interviewing potential donors, and completing routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests.

  • This position requires a strong customer service focus, with the ability to deliver an exceptional service to donors.
  • You will need to be flexible and able to work varied shifts on a rotating roster, including weekends and afternoon shifts.
  • The role also involves occasionally lifting between 9-22.7 kg and frequently standing, walking and bending to set up and pack down machines and blood products.

The donor centre is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of blood collections.

As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring that donors receive excellent service throughout their experience at the centre.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing clinical oversight and guidance to other team members
  2. Greeting and interviewing potential donors
  3. Completing routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
  4. Setting up machines and collections equipment
  5. Inserting and removing needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
  6. Managing adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance
  7. Monitoring donors post-donation and assisting them to rebook for their next donation
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
  • Occasionally lift between 9-22.7 kg
  • Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
