Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of process equipment within our PPA product portfolio. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality solutions that meet client requirements while improving profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with commercial and sales teams to understand client needs and develop tailored solutions
- Collaborate with engineers and operations teams to execute projects on time and within budget
- Provide technical guidance on product developments and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Design systems to achieve lowest Total Cost of Ownership, considering installation, commissioning, and maintenance costs
- Develop and implement solutions to product issues, working with internal teams, suppliers, and customers as needed
- Stay up-to-date with current industry standard methodologies and best practices
- Provide product expertise to support business objectives and contribute to the development of new products
- Support operations teams in meeting lead time, quality, and other targets
- Participate in business improvement initiatives and contribute to the adoption of practical process improvement (PPI) tools and 8-step methodology
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent
- Formal Electrical, Computer Science, or Project Management studies are desirable
- Minimum 5 years work experience in a related engineering role
- Demonstrated knowledge or experience working to engineering and AS/ISO standards, including ISO 9001: Quality System
- Knowledge of relevant codes and underlying theory
- Ability to read and understand engineering plant drawings and P&ID diagrams
- Presentation and communication skills to develop credibility with customers
- Self-motivated and committed, with ability to run schedules and maintain critical timelines
- Proficient user of 2D and 3D drawing packages (AutoCAD, SolidWorks preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Ability to program PLC or exposure to control systems is ideal
- Demonstrated leadership for multi-disciplinary teams

- $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience
