Job Title: Direct Services Support Professional

Direct Services Support Professionals work in a dynamic environment addressing changing client needs. They provide out-of-hours on-call and rostering support for Accommodation Support and Respite Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support direct support staff in delivering accommodation and respite services to people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
  • Offer direct assistance to clients receiving these services.
  • E nsure practices adhere to relevant legislative requirements and standards, including the Human Services Quality Framework.
  • Cover shifts and perform roster-related duties for a 24/7 support model for individuals with disabilities.
  • Address emerging situations, supporting residential care staff for continuity and quality of support to people living in accommodation services.
  • Support individuals accessing respite and responding to emergent situations and critical incidents.
  • Filling shift vacancies, deploying staff as needed, and providing after-hours communication and enquiries as required.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including staff, families, other agencies, and the community.
  • Undertake service-monitoring activities and tasks, applying legislative requirements, departmental policies, and service delivery practices.
  • Contribute to support planning for individuals with disabilities and participate in projects and general administrative duties.
