We are seeking an experienced Senior HSEQ Advisor to join our team at Symal, based in Newcastle. As a key member of our HSEQ team, you will play a vital role in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards and regulations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HSEQ professional to showcase their expertise in civil infrastructure projects and contribute to our goal of making zero harm the norm. You will be responsible for providing specialist advice to stakeholders, including senior leadership and project teams, and educating employees on industry best practices and legislative compliance requirements.

As a Senior HSEQ Advisor, your day-to-day activities will involve:

  • Safety Leadership: Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and regulations.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and manage risks to ensure project safety and success.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance HSEQ performance and stay ahead of emerging trends.
  • Training and Development: Conduct ongoing HSEQ training sessions to upskill staff and promote best practices.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into HSEQ incidents and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure HSEQ requirements are met.
  • Compliance Audits: Monitor and conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to HSEQ policies and governance activities.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience in HSEQ roles within the civil infrastructure sector.
  • Certification: Relevant qualifications and certifications in HSEQ.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire others.
  • Analytical Ability: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, plus benefits such as:
