Wastewater Labourer Opportunity

This role involves hands-on work in the daily operations of our sewer reticulation network. As a Wastewater Labourer, you will assist with maintenance and repairs while providing excellent customer service.

Maintenance and repairs include:

  • Repairing sewer blockages and lateral connection blockages
  • Maintaining high-pressure sewer cleaning trucks and equipment to ensure efficient operation
  • Installing sewer extensions or lateral connections as required
  • Inspecting and investigating manhole asset integrity for follow-up repairs as required
  • Conducting CCTV surveys of sewerage reticulation systems and CCTV pipeline surveys
  • Investigating infiltration and inflow into our sewerage network
  • Performing reactive high-pressure flushing of sewer main blockages as required
  • Surveying reticulation systems to identify illegal storm water and groundwater inflow
  • Operating and maintaining licenced emergency overflow valves and screens
  • Working with vacuum tanker crews to remove silt and sand from sewer lines
Requirements
  • Secondary education to Year 10
  • A current MR licence (HR is desirable)
  • Construction White Card
  • Basic computer skills
  • Current confined space accreditation and/or ability and willingness to gain accreditation
  • Qualifications in a trade profession or previous experience in the wastewater industry (desirable)
  • Practical ability to pre-empt and organise tools and equipment
  • Physically fit and willing to work in outdoor environments
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work well within a team
