The Service Manager is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and aftermarket support to our clients in the mineral crushing and screening industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Provide timely and accurate quotations for equipment repair and maintenance services.
  • Liaise with the purchasing team to ensure efficient ordering and delivery of spare parts and materials.
  • Oversee the condition reporting and inspection of equipment, ensuring that all work is completed to the required quality standard.
  • Ensure that all outsourced service repair work is competitively priced and completed to the required quality standard.
  • Commission new machine installations and ensure that all work is completed on time and to the required standard of quality.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the workshop is maintained to the highest standard.
  • Plan, document, and understand the requirements/support needed to complete the job safely and efficiently.
  • On completion of each service job, gather all costs relating to the service job and ensure that the invoice is accurate for the customer.
  • Ensure the Engineering Department is notified of significant changes made to a machine that may need to be recorded on the machine's Master Schedule.
  • Report progress of existing service jobs and expected completion date.
  • Handle and report disputes with customers that may affect cash flow.
  • Conduct market research (conditions, customers, new products, and competitors).
  • Manage the service technicians on a day-to-day basis, providing leadership, technical advice, and product training.
  • Participate and conduct in performance review.
  • Investigate all accidents and assist in the risk assessment process.
  • Contribute to the overall improvement of health and safety in the workplace.

Requirements

  • Mechanical trade or appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Minimal 5 years' experience as a mechanical fitter and proven people management skills.
  • Experience within the mineral crushing and screening industry preferable.
  • Computer literate in MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with ERP would be well regarded.
  • This position will require travel.
