Career Level 3 Security Specialist Role
The Incident Response team is responsible for identifying, containing and resolving security incidents. The role of an Incident Response professional involves acting as a Tier 2 triage contact, collecting data and information to inform and advise the SIET and SIRT.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Tier 2 triage contact, collecting data and information to inform and advise the SIET and SIRT.
- Handle incident escalations as part of the Security Incident Management Process.
- Develop and optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and use cases for monitoring and handling different types of security events.
- Gather threat intelligence to ensure detection methods are effective against current threats.
- Work with internal and external partners to investigate, remediate, and clean up after security incidents.
- Prepare detailed reports and provide summaries on both status and progress of investigations.
Required Profile:
- Technical degree in IT or IT Security with outstanding knowledge of operating systems and network protocols.
- Experience with SIEM, network security technologies, and tools.
- PREFERRED: Digital forensics, threat hunting, malware analysis, SOAR, and detection tuning experience.
- In-depth knowledge of threat modelling frameworks, attacker mindset, and defence-in-depth concepts.
- Excellent technical understanding of security operations and related processes.
- International experience from working in complex, global IT organisations.
- Customer-orientated, strong collaborative working style, and experience in dealing with service providers.
- Highly results-oriented, detail-focused, and structured approach to tasks.
