Job Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Leader to lead and manage a team responsible for delivering on-ground regulatory response in Western Metropolitan Melbourne Region. This includes education, compliance monitoring and inspections, and managing non-compliance via regulatory notices and enforcement action.

The successful candidate will plan, oversee and deliver front-line regulatory operations aligned to EPA's strategic priorities, to prevent harms to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.

This is a senior role for an experienced operational regulator who wants to contribute to the success of EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team to achieve high standards of performance, accountability, collaboration, ethics, and integrity.
  • Manage the allocation of resources, budgets, business and project planning and reporting.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to a positive and diverse culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, policy and process obligations and requirements in the conduct of regulatory operations.
  • Actively participate in the conduct of investigations and the delivery of preventative projects and compliance programs aligned to EPA's regulatory priorities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience and a record of achievement in a relevant leadership regulatory role.
  • Demonstrated experience and proven ability to lead a high performing team.
  • Ability to think outside the square, a willingness to try new things and a genuine desire to learn, share knowledge and make a difference.
