Financial Fraud Prevention Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Financial Fraud Prevention Specialist to join our product team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an understanding of relevant rules and regulations affecting the payments industry, including VISA, Mastercard, Auspaynet, AUSTRAC etc.

The specialist will monitor fraud alerts and investigate high-risk transactions to determine potential fraudulent activity. Additionally, they will identify and mitigate emerging fraud trends.

To accomplish this, the specialist will implement and adjust fraud detection rules, processes and systems to improve detection. This may involve managing chargebacks and dispute portfolios while adhering to scheme rules through various portals.

Effective communication with stakeholders regarding fraud-related incidents and solutions is also essential. Experience in a similar role, combined with strong problem-solving and analysis skills, is required for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an understanding of relevant rules and regulations affecting the payments industry.
