Seeking a skilled psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team, providing expert care and support to infants, children, youth and their families in a regional setting.

About the Role
  • To deliver high-quality patient care, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions.
  • To work collaboratively with clinical teams, patients and their families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
  • To provide comprehensive psychiatric services, including assessments, consultations and treatments for patients across the age range of 0-18 years.
  • To participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and contribute to the development of treatment plans that are tailored to the needs of each patient.
  • To communicate effectively with patients, carers, other healthcare professionals and administrative staff to ensure seamless care coordination and collaboration.
Requirements
  • MEDICAL EXPERTISE: A medical degree (registerable/registered) with the Medical Board of Australia, Fellowship of the RANZCP or equivalent, and sub-specialty training and relevant qualifications in child and adolescent psychiatry with experience in the relevant setting (inpatient/outpatient/community).
  • EVIDENCE OF COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Having appropriate skills in verbal and written communication and the use of computer and telemedicine technology.
  • EVIDENCE OF COLLABORATION: In working with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, medical colleagues, other health professionals, and relevant government and non-government organisations and agencies.
  • EVIDENCE OF MANAGEMENT: As a clinical leader, as clinical supervisor of a multidisciplinary team, and in performing any required management and administrative tasks if relevant to the position; for all applicant, ability to work within clinical governance structures and participate in efforts for clinical quality improvement.
