The Head of Tax is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing corporate tax compliance, reporting, and governance across Australia and New Zealand.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Manage all corporate tax compliance obligations including income tax returns, BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, contractor withholding tax, and transfer pricing documentation.
- Lead tax provisioning & deferred tax calculations.
- Provide strategic tax advisory support on M&A, corporate restructuring, and international expansion.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and the Board on tax strategy and planning opportunities.
- Develop and implement a robust tax governance framework.
- Coordinate tax audits and ATO reviews with advisors and tax authorities.
- Ensure alignment with internal controls, policies, and evolving tax legislation.
- Deliver in-house training on GST, FBT, withholding tax, and other key areas to non-tax stakeholders.
- Mentor and manage the tax team to support their performance, development, and career growth.
- Monitor changes in local and international tax law and assess business impact.
