Job Description

The Office for Early Childhood Development aims to create a fairer and better future for all children in South Australia by implementing the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care.

As the steward of the early childhood development system, the team will work with the sector to organise and connect the system, reducing developmental vulnerability.

This includes providing universal access to quality, teacher-led preschool from age 3, growing and sustaining a quality early childhood workforce, and greater supports and connected services for families during a child's first 1000 days.

About This Role
  • You will bring experience in complex policy and program development, high-level communication skills to engage stakeholders, and ability to identify program outcomes under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver complex policy, project, and change management functions contributing to reform objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making.
  • Manage contract and grants processes, preparing specifications, participating in evaluation panels, managing external suppliers, and monitoring contract deliverables and reports.
  • Build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program outcomes.
  • Focus on achieving outcomes for Aboriginal peoples, building partnerships with Aboriginal families and Communities, and ensuring cultural perspectives are considered.

    • Demonstrated experience in analysing and evaluating sensitive policy issues.
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively at senior levels with stakeholders.
