We are looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Database Administrator to lead our team in Sydney. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability and performance of our SQL Server estate.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple SQL Server environments across various locations.
  • Implement Always-On High Availability solutions and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to provision masked, production-like datasets.
  • Automate recurring database administration tasks and develop tools for operational efficiency.
  • Support migration and modernisation projects aligned with our global data strategy.
  • Provide Level 2 database support and incident resolution following industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA.
  • Strong technical skills combined with excellent communication abilities.
  • Experience with Always-On High Availability solutions and disaster recovery testing.
  • Knowledge of evolutionary database designs and DevOps processes.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with git-based source control systems.
  • Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Power BI.
