Curatorial Trainee Opportunity

This 22-month fixed-term position offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in curatorial practice.

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of collection management software and practical skills in working with diverse collections.
  • Develop confidence in engaging audiences and making collections accessible and inclusive.

You will spend 16 months based in Edinburgh with the National Galleries of Scotland, followed by 6 months in Aberdeen at the Archives, Gallery and Museums.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of collections, including cataloging, conservation, and exhibition planning.
  • Develop and deliver public programs and events to engage diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • No prior experience in an art gallery required; interest in art and passion for making collections accessible and inclusive.
  • Aiming to build a career in curatorial practice, with support for individuals from diverse or marginalized backgrounds.
