We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Wesfarmers OneDigital. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering our data assets and tooling for our stakeholders across the various business units in a scalable, secure, and governed manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to designing and delivering data assets and tooling for stakeholders.
  • Guide and influence the analytics engineering community and ecosystem.
  • Build and contribute to data and analytics engineering communities.
  • Curate data products in Snowflake that support analytics and reporting, self-service data exploration, and emerging data science use cases.
  • Contribute to data product roadmaps and the data platform roadmap.
  • Involvement in data architecture and contributing to the evolution of data design standards, guidelines, frameworks, and practices.
  • Improve the analytics engineering experience and encourage involvement and toolset adoption by the wider Data and Technology areas.
  • Establish and implement engineering principles and practices to enable quality and speed.
  • Drive a culture of engagement and continual improvement.
  • Coach and mentor team members.
  • Raise data literacy across stakeholder groups and empower them to leverage data as a strategic tool for their function.
  • Collaborate with internal data and analytics community to strive for greater functionality in the Digital Ecosystem's data systems.
Requirements
  • Expertise in data modeling and data transformation frameworks.
  • Passion for building and managing data products within large cloud data warehouses.
  • Familiarity with a wide set of data warehouse architectures and methodologies.
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to anticipate issues, challenges, and opportunities and manage them accordingly.
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic teams and collaborate with others.
  • Experience working within agile and lean methodologies.
