About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Warfare Officer to join our team at the New Zealand Defence Force. As a Warfare Officer, you will be responsible for leading and commanding warships, ensuring the safe passage and navigation of the vessel at sea, and managing the bridge staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and command warships, making strategic decisions to ensure the safe passage and navigation of the vessel at sea.
  • Manage the bridge staff, providing guidance and direction to ensure the effective operation of the ship.
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve strategic objectives, working closely with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other Warfare Officers to share knowledge and best practices, ensuring the highest level of performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 17 years of age upon entry.
  • Free of any criminal conviction for the previous two years.
  • Pass an Officer Selection Board.
  • NCEA Level 2 certificate.
  • Meet the minimum entry fitness standards.
  • Colour perception restrictions may apply.
