About the Role

Our esteemed Environment & Planning practice is acknowledged as a frontrunner in Australia. Due to an increase in demand for our services, we are seeking two Associates to enhance our Brisbane team, primarily collaborating with the esteemed Partner, Rebecca Hoare.

Key Responsibilities

The Environment & Planning team represents a diverse clientele, including major corporations, developers, infrastructure providers, and government entities. Your role will encompass a variety of tasks, including:

  • Engaging in litigation, advisory, and transactional work related to planning and environmental law.
  • Handling planning approvals and appeals, major project approvals, and contaminated land issues.
  • Providing advice and conducting due diligence in sectors such as oil & gas, mining, and renewable energy.
  • Managing incident responses, investigations, and environmental enforcement actions.
Career Development

Depending on your career aspirations, we offer the flexibility to focus on either environmental law and ESG issues or planning law, or a combination of both.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3-4 years of post-qualification experience in a reputable Environment & Planning practice.
  • Experience in matters involving environmental approvals and prosecutions.
  • A solid understanding of environmental law across various sectors.
  • Experience in proceedings related to environmental or planning matters.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of juggling multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in drafting.
  • Impressive academic credentials.
