About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Environmental Planner to join our team at Arup. As a key member of our Environment and Biodiversity team, you will play a critical role in leading planning and environmental inputs to renewable energy projects and driving growth of energy-related regulatory approvals and assessment projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver a range of projects and proposals in Queensland, including large complex infrastructure and development projects.
  • Contribute to building a pipeline of environment projects and opportunities in the energy market.
  • Collaborate with Arup's Business Leaders to identify opportunities, cross-sell and prepare proposals for external clients.
  • Represent Arup at internal and external meetings.
  • Support the development of the environmental team in Queensland, including working with the Team Lead to support and mentor more junior team members.
Requirements
  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Town/Urban/Environmental Planning or Environmental Management/Science/Engineering or similar area.
  • 15 years or more of relevant industry experience in delivery of environmental assessments and approvals for major projects within a consulting or Government business environment.
  • Relevant industry experience in Renewable energy and development/environmental approvals within a consulting business environment.
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies.
  • Strong technical knowledge within the Queensland market, with sufficient experience and credibility to influence key clients.
