Machine Repair Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled Machine Repair Technician to join our team of professionals based at our manufacturing plant.

Job Summary

The primary function of this role is to troubleshoot, monitor, adjust, and repair various types of machinery throughout the production facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the role will maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor belts, elevators, storage tanks, and pumps.
  • Troubleshoot industrial equipment and follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Inspect and perform data collection using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove and inspect internal components, dismantle, rebuild, and reassemble asset parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Create hand sketches of assemblies and understand dimensional drawings, bills of materials, and equipment service manuals.
  • Assess wear and remaining useful life of power transmission components such as sprockets, chains, couplings, drives, rolls, pulleys, bearings, etc., using precision instruments.
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Comfortable using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Clean, lubricate, adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.

Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Millwright Mechanic License.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably 5-8 years.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to work shifts, including extended hours and weekends.
  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
