Poultry Farm Manager Job

Are you a seasoned Farm Manager looking for a challenging opportunity in the heart of rural Australia? We have an exciting role available for you to oversee the management of our modern broiler farms in Goolgowi, New South Wales.

Job Description:

As a Poultry Farm Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the welfare of the chickens entrusted to our care. Your primary focus will be on maintaining facilities to the highest standard and presenting the site immaculately at all times. You will also lead a team of up to eight staff and manage relevant contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics as required
- Create an environment that drives continuous improvement in animal welfare, quality, productivity, and safety
- Ensure adherence to biosecurity, health and safety, environmental, and animal welfare procedures
- Maintain positive working relationships with producer company representatives
- Utilize best practice and innovative shed management techniques to ensure optimal bird growing requirements without compromising animal welfare or processor standards
- Train, motivate, and lead the farming team to achieve quality outcomes in a professional manner
- Manage direct reports, including an assistant farm manager and a trainee farm manager

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- 5 years of experience in managing fully environmentally controlled broiler farms;
- Proven people management and industrial relations skills;
- Proven Workplace Health and Safety systems management and creating a culture of safety first, work practices;
- Ability to maintain and manage key stakeholder relationships;
- Desire to develop a continuous improvement culture that constantly delivers performance and process improvement;
- Day-to-day on-site maintenance capabilities;
- Ability to challenge the norm and think outside of the square to achieve results;
