Laboratory Operations Specialist

Job Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot and operate laboratory equipment. The successful candidate will prepare samples for analysis, prioritize urgent patient samples and conduct general laboratory housekeeping duties.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks to ensure laboratory equipment is functioning correctly
- Troubleshoot issues with pre- and post-analytical instruments
- Prepare samples for analysis, prioritizing urgent patient samples
- Conduct general laboratory housekeeping duties, including stock management
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a diagnostic laboratory (desired)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment as part of a busy team or independently
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Understanding of and commitment to occupational health and safety
