Company Overview:

Allan Hall Business Advisors is a dynamic and growing SME seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance team. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for providing financial clarity and cash flow stability to support business growth.

This is a full-time hybrid position based in the Northern Beaches area. You will work closely with the Operations Director to deliver accurate financial insights and strategic recommendations to drive business decision-making.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will oversee and maintain accurate cash flow forecasting, deliver clear data-driven financial recommendations, and lead the budgeting process. They will also ensure financial discipline, streamline financial processes, and monitor key financial metrics to identify trends and implement improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cash Flow Management – Oversee and maintain accurate cash flow forecasting to ensure financial stability and support growth.
  • Financial Strategy & Business Insights – Deliver clear, data-driven financial recommendations to support business decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting – Lead the budgeting process, provide accurate financial forecasts, and ensure financial discipline.
  • Process Optimisation & Controls – Streamline financial processes and reporting structures for efficiency and scalability.
  • Performance Monitoring – Track key financial metrics, identify trends, and implement improvements.
  • Compliance & Reporting – Ensure adherence to tax, payroll, and regulatory requirements.
  • Executive Support – Act as 2IC to the Operations Director, offering strategic financial insights and guidance.
  • Team Leadership – Oversee and manage an offshore finance team handling Xero reconciliations, payments, and payroll.

About You:

  • CPA/CA qualified with 10+ years of experience in finance leadership roles.
  • Proven expertise in cash flow management, financial reporting, and business analysis.
  • Highly structured, diligent, and detail-focused, with a strong ability to provide accurate financial insights.
  • Experience leading finance teams and ensuring efficiency in day-to-day accounting.
  • Ability to support the Operations Director with financial decision-making and long-term financial planning.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience in Xero (preferred) or other cloud-based financial platforms.
  • Sound experience with presenting financial insights to executives, investors, and partners.
  • Stable and committed, seeking a long-term finance leadership role in a growing SME.
