We are seeking a skilled Senior Consultant to support our clients by offering sound statutory and strategic urban planning advice and insights.
- This role involves contributing to multidisciplinary projects, working collaboratively with economists, heritage planners, urban designers, social planners, and transport planners.
- Key responsibilities include providing services such as land use advice, development capability assessments, due diligence evaluations, master plans, approval processes, and project management.
- The ideal candidate will develop strong client relationships by building trust, providing quality advice, and managing expectations.
- S/he will write submissions, proposals, and advice that accurately reflect client needs.
- Responsibilities also include managing small to medium-sized projects, including scoping and costing, tracking job costs, coordinating consultants, and sub-consultants as needed.
- The successful candidate will identify and raise issues impacting fee estimates or timelines.
- Additional duties include coaching and developing team members.
- The role requires contributing to quality assurance and the Planning team's Business Plan.
- A tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Town Planning or a related discipline is required.
- Ideal candidates have 5+ years' experience in Urban Planning, preferably with some experience in managing planning projects.
- Strong knowledge of statutory and strategic planning, ideally gained in a consultancy or local/state government environment, is essential.
- A keen understanding of impacts and issues affecting land use and development is necessary.
- Candidates must be able to prioritize competing demands of multiple projects within agreed budgets and timeframes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team is crucial.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous professional development is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage with various stakeholders are essential.
