ILS Manager - Acquisition Job Description

The role of ILS Manager - Acquisition is a critical position within the organisation, responsible for performing and achieving complex to very complex materiel logistics work.

This involves in-depth knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements.

The successful candidate will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role, demonstrating sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, implementing, complying with, and reviewing policies and procedures relevant to their work within the Materiel Logistics function.
  • Engaging in complex to very complex problem solving and issues management, as well as coordinating and performing detailed or sensitive projects that impact strategic, political, or operational outcomes for Defence.
  • Leading a high performing team and ensuring that they are directed towards meeting customers' needs and keeping them informed.

Requirements:

  • A superior record in ILS management.
  • Proven ability to achieve quality outcomes in a high tempo environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and develop plans and processes to enhance business outcomes.
