About the ServiceOur Homelessness Services Women & Families program offers diverse programs catering to various needs, including the Young Women's and Adult Women's accommodation programs. We provide targeted family support, early intervention through the Women's Early Intervention program, holistic support and housing support for women exiting remand, support for QLD Drug and Alcohol Court participants, and comprehensive property and tenancy management for all temporary supported properties.
About the RoleWe are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Recovery Practitioner to provide client-centred support to individuals referred through the Queensland Drug and Alcohol Court. The successful candidate will allocate housing for individuals and support them to maintain their housing for the duration of the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Order (DATO) while working with the individual to maximise their capacity to be independent, self-reliant, and connected to community supports.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement trauma-informed case plans, facilitating goal setting and strategies to meet service users' needs.
- Provide ethical, consistent support interventions that promote recovery and enhance housing stability for individuals.
- Collaborate with the service intake team to complete necessary documentation and implement skill-building resources for service users.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of service user information and comply with reporting processes for incidents and complaints.
- Uphold and advocate for the service framework that emphasizes diversity, self-determination, and social justice.
- Assist in implementing quality practices and evidence-based innovations to enhance service delivery.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Provide supportive peer interactions and contribute ideas for enhancing workflows and outcomes.
- Degree in Social Work, Human Services or a related field, and/or equivalent practical experience in the public and community housing sector and the issues relating to drug and alcohol misuse.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current Blue Card.
- Current Queensland Driver Licence.
- Proven experience in case management and assessment for adults with a long-term history of substance misuse, alongside knowledge of public and community housing sectors.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices, with hands-on experience in intervention strategies for family support and at-risk individuals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Collaborative team player with a knack for building rapport and fostering productive relationships.
- Solutions-oriented and self-motivated, committed to contributing positively within a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and eager to learn and utilize additional software and systems as needed.
