Job Opportunity: Legal Adviser

We are seeking a skilled Legal Adviser to support the delivery of strategic advice on Treaty related matters.

  • The role involves preparing and coordinating clear and considered legal advice for the Treaty Negotiations and Strategy branch and departmental senior executives, Ministers and the Premier.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Researching and analysing complex legal issues
  • Providing high-quality written and verbal advice
  • Coordinating briefings, Cabinet Submissions and reports on sensitive issues
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong legal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to initiate, deliver and manage strategic projects on time and to a high standard

Key Requirements
  • Admission to the Australian legal profession
  • A current Australian practising certificate issued in either Victoria or New South Wales
