Job Description

The role of a Lifestyle and Community Coordinator is multifaceted, requiring the ability to oversee the delivery of Person-First Leisure and Lifestyle Programs within aged care homes. The primary goal is to promote holistic wellbeing among residents through recreational activities that cater to their emotional and physical rehabilitation needs.

This position involves managing a team of Wellbeing Carers responsible for providing quality care, supporting residents in maintaining their skill levels, independence, and mobility, as well as offering respite support to family members and caregivers. In addition to overseeing the Person-First Leisure and Lifestyle Program and the team of recreational activity officers, you will also perform the role of a Wellbeing Carer alongside other staff members within the care home.

To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent team leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to plan and organize recreational activities that meet individual resident needs. You will also need to ensure that all documentation related to assessments, capabilities, needs, and problems is completed accurately and in compliance with relevant standards.

In terms of qualifications and experience, a Cert IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or degree-level qualifications are highly regarded. Previous experience in a similar role, along with senior first aid certification and a background in caring for the elderly within an aged or community care setting, are essential requirements. Furthermore, you must have highly developed organization and time management skills, the ability to solve problems independently, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
