Job Title: Emergency Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Physician to join our team at the Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Health Service Emergency Department.

The Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Health Service Emergency Department is one of South Australia's largest and busiest networks in the South Australia. We offer high quality care for a variety of presentations including major multi-trauma, paediatric, and life-threatening medical emergencies.

We focus on wellbeing of our staff and have been awarded the ACEM Wellbeing award in 2023 - something which we are very proud of. Our peripheral site, only 20 minutes away, provides the job satisfaction of rural medicine within the city.

We are a flexible workforce and support fractioned employment with lots of opportunities to develop individual interests non clinically, for example Ultrasound, Medical Admin and Disaster Planning, whilst also supporting the department.

Our Emergency Departments are situated in Southern Adelaide - an ideal location for both family and city life. A 20-minute journey from the CBD, with little traffic, makes the daily commute effortless. Whilst also being close to award winning beaches, hills, wineries, and importantly a safe family life with award winning schools.

About the Role
  • Provide specialist level care to patients
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team across all aspects of Emergency Care
  • Paediatrics, ambulatory, short stay medicine, resus and acute emergency medicine
  • Supervise Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers, and Medical Students
  • Contribute to an after-hours on-call service in accordance with a roster agreed by the Department Director
  • Oversee the smooth functioning of the clinical area when on shift
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification
  • Appropriate Specialist Qualifications
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award
  • Experience with supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff
  • Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in an Emergency Department
