The Clinical Lead role at Arche Health is a pivotal position within the headspace Cannington team, overseeing the coordination and delivery of clinical services.

The Clinical Lead provides critical leadership and direction to the Centre team, ensuring day-to-day clinical work meets the needs of young people.

The ideal candidate must be passionate about working with young people and committed to their health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • In consultation with the manager provide clinical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team including senior and youth access workers, a clinical educator and support student placements.
  • Support an environment of positive team engagement, inclusiveness and best practice.
  • Provide and foster a risk aware, trauma informed and person-centred service provision for clients and staff.
  • Provide formal clinical supervision, support and feedback to the team .
  • Work within a model of responsivity and adapting to changing needs within the community.
  • In consultation with the manager, identify and address work performance and practice issues .
  • Lead weekly intake and assessment meetings, conduct clinical and caseload reviews .
  • Consult and liaise with site based contracted service providers under the Medicare Better Access scheme .
  • Be a headspace ambassador and participate in meetings, forums and community engagement initiatives as required.
  • Carry a small caseload providing brief intervention and counselling.
Requirements
  • Possession of Bachelor level tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy or other Allied Health or Behavioural/Social Sciences.
  • Current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or AASW.
  • Police clearance and Working with Children Check.
Skills and Experience
  • Team leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience and advanced level clinical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience clinical supervision and the facilitation of clinical review and performance management processes.
  • Advanced clinical skills in identifying and assessing young people at risk, including suicidality and violence.
  • Highly developed communication skills,including documentation and record keeping skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively interact with a diverse range of people.
  • Ability to work in a highly productive environment with time pressures while managing multiple tasks.
  • A high-level of interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships whilst reflecting organisational values.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of accountability systems and continuous quality improvement processes.
  • A broad understanding of the challenges and experiences of young people from diverse backgrounds including specific community factors.
