Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and qualified mental health professional to join our Psychiatric Emergency Care Team in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct timely assessments using CMI documents
  • Provide recovery-oriented practice using the Optimal Health Program
  • Develop and implement safety plans with consumer's carers and multi-disciplinary team
  • Utilize current evidence-based interventions and collaborate with community organizations
  • Monitor consumer's physical/medical state and associated treatments
  • Provide pharmacological/psycho-education specific to consumer's requirements
  • Facilitate information exchange with General Practitioner and other services
  • Adhere to organizational documentation guidelines and rostering practices

Requirements:

  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for mental health consumers
  • Sound knowledge of Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation
  • Capacity to work effectively within a team structure and as a sole clinician
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external services
