Morley Senior High School is a diverse and inclusive learning community.
We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our team as a Teacher of English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D).
The successful applicant will ideally be responsible for overseeing the Intensive Language Centre, which caters to students in Years 7 to 10.
This includes coordinating excursions and cultural events, developing targeted language programs, and preparing students for successful integration into mainstream classes.
The ideal candidate should display a dynamic teaching style tailored to EAL/D learners and have experience or capacity to teach ATAR and/or General English as an Additional Language or Dialect.
They should employ inclusive and differentiated teaching strategies to support language acquisition and literacy development.
A deep understanding of second language acquisition and the Western Australian Curriculum is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality language programs for newly arrived students.
- Organise excursions and events that support cultural integration and language development.
- Prepare students for transition into mainstream classes through targeted academic and social support.
- Lead a team approach to supporting EAL/D students across the school.
- Maintain strong communication with families and external support agencies.
