Are you an innovative, culturally responsive teacher who works best as part of a dynamic team? Are you passionate about improving equity of outcomes for EALD students across Western Australia? We are seeking to establish a pool of English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EALD) Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year.

The Role The School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) serves students across Western Australia and is responsive to the needs of EALD learners across a diverse range of contexts.

Working at SIDE provides unique and innovative opportunities to strengthen equity and outcomes for EALD students across the state.

The SIDE EALD Outreach Program provides intensive English language support for recently arrived regional primary and secondary students who are unable to access metropolitan Intensive English Centres (IEC).

The classes are designed to support recently arrived EALD students in the Beginning or Emerging phases of acquiring Standard Australian English and are intended to complement school-based EALD support across Learning Areas.

High level communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build mutually respectful, collaborative relationships with students, their parents and teachers are foundational skills required for this role.
