Exceptional Opportunity for a Physiotherapist in Aged Care

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team at Monash Health, providing exceptional care to elderly patients. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

About the Role:

This Grade 2 Physiotherapist position offers a dynamic and challenging work environment, where you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Program Manager, utilizing your assessment skills to further develop your expertise in a different program area.

Your primary focus will be on delivering safe and high-quality client care, assessment skills, and recommendations as part of the care plans and discharge plans for our patients on the ward.

You will be responsible for working within Biala and Unit 2 to provide best practice patient care, achieve maximal operational effectiveness, develop organisational competencies, and create strong partnerships within and outside Monash Health in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team within the Older Adult Mental Health Program.

The Aged and Community Care Program at Monash Health provides a multidisciplinary service to support older adults in our community. We aim to keep clients independent within their community, proactively promoting health, wellbeing, and self-management whilst assisting with timely interventions to prevent deterioration of the condition and admission to hospital or residential care.

We now have an excellent opportunity for a motivated Allied Health professional to join us in a leadership role at the forefront of change as we further develop and refine our service offering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high standards of evidence-based care to clients.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to achieve operational effectiveness and develop organisational competencies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote health, wellbeing, and self-management among older adults.
  • Assess and recommend appropriate interventions to prevent deterioration of the condition and admission to hospital or residential care.

Requirements:

  • An accredited Bachelor's Degree or an entry-level Master's Degree in Allied Health or Psychology.
  • AHPRA registration where applicable.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Leadership/Management/Gerontology/Other relevant field (desirable).
  • Research active (desirable).

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
