
Supporting Children and Families Through Effective Case Management

The Salvation Army is a leading charity organisation in Australia, with a mission to provide support and services to those in need. We are seeking an experienced Family Support Professional to join our team.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people, and families affected by family violence. As a Family Support Professional, you will work closely with schools, local agencies, and community stakeholders to identify service gaps and implement child-focused community initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality case management to children and young people, particularly those affected by family violence.
- Deliver strengths-based parenting support focused on fostering healthy parent-child relationships.
- Work collaboratively with schools, local agencies, and community stakeholders to identify service gaps and implement child-focused community initiatives.
- Assess the impact of violence on children and young people, and support their recovery through tailored, therapeutic interventions.
- Advocate for child and family needs in line with trauma-informed practice principles and the values of the Family Violence Stream.
Requirements:
- Degree qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, Counselling, Welfare, Community Development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with children and families affected by family and domestic violence.
- Experience delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive support services.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and/or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities.
- High-level organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and Microsoft Office.
