In this challenging and diverse policy environment, you will have the chance to lead projects, conduct in-depth policy analysis, and provide high-quality advice tailored to specific audiences. You will also collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to support our legislation and governance work programs.

This includes:

  • Preparing high-quality reports, submissions, briefing notes, commentary, policy, presentations, documents, publications, and correspondence related to financial accountability, budget, and fiscal-related matters.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Representing our Legislation and Governance team at various internal and external meetings, committees, and other forums as required.

To excel in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong research and critical thinking skills relating to legislation and governance issues, including preparation and analysis of strategic policy advice.
  • Effective organisational skills, including the ability to work independently on complex, time-sensitive tasks in a government policy environment.
  • Strong judgement, communication, and understanding of perspectives in developing solutions and working with others.

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
