Senior Risk Leader - Life Insurance

Our organisation is seeking a seasoned risk professional to join our Australia Risk Leadership team. As a trusted adviser, you will lead a small life risk team, partner closely with first line leaders and provide independent challenge on strategic initiatives and material transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive risk awareness and embed clear risk-reward trade-offs in decision making.
  • Ensure timely execution of the Risk Management Framework and the Risk Management Strategy across all risk types.
  • Present risk reporting and opinions to senior committees.
  • Own risk appetite monitoring, participate in key governance forums, and manage relationships with regulators, auditors and Group functions.
  • Champion a strong risk culture and lead risk change to meet regulatory and Group requirements.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years' risk management experience in financial services, including life insurance.
  • Deep expertise across all risk types, with hands-on application of controls and remediation.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian insurance market, its regulatory landscape, and life insurance risk characteristics.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and risk governance best practice.
  • Experience operating within APRA and ASIC frameworks, including direct regulator engagement.
